Problem with IgnoreFieldList Property

Aug 16, 2010 at 8:06 AM

Dear bykinag,

                                There are few  logical problem with ignorefieldlist property they are as follows:

1) If a user(programmer) wants filter on only two fields from an entity which has around 50 fields , he has to mention all the 48 fields to avoid those fields.

2) if a new field is introduced in the entity a user(programmer) has to open  the code and have to add that new field in the ignorelist property to avoid that field to get displayed.

due to the above problems I have changed the code a bit and have changed the conditon !ignoreFieldListTemp.Contains(propertyInfo.Name.ToUpper())

and made it  ignoreFieldListTemp.Contains(propertyInfo.Name.ToUpper()).

I think if can make the same changes in your code, that will be helpful in future, what do u say?

i think we can modify the list of fields,

so that it could indicate we ignore this column,

or allow.

I think it will be the best solution.

yeah I too think it will be good if you add another property which says wether to include or exclude the fields specified in the LisfOfFields(renamed the ignorefieldlist) propert y.
